VillageRadio.net will begin broadcasting Hilton Cadet Football games

Beginning with the Hilton Cadet Football season opener on Sept. 5, VillageRadio.Net, a new online radio station designed to serve the community, will begin broadcasting games. Listeners can access “Hometown Info, Hometown Sports and Hilton’s Greatest Hits” on their computers at www.villageradio.net, as well as on all smartphones and tablets via Village Radio’s free mobile APPS.

The radio station is the creation of Rick “RJ” Jordan, a Hilton resident and 30 plus year broadcasting veteran. Jordan has worked at well over a dozen radio stations in the Northeast and held down program director duties at market leading stations in Syracuse and Portland, Maine. His voice may be familiar to Hilton listeners from his time on air at area stations 98 PXY, Legends102.7 and WCJW.

“You no longer need a tower and a transmitter to have a radio station,” said Jordan. “Most homes now have more laptops, desktop PCs and mobile devices than they have radios. Thanks to 4G and wifi, plus bluetooth in automobiles, residents will be able to easily listen to the station.”

Future plans include the addition of community produced content and the airing of local church worship services. Interested community members seeking involvement in the station can contact Jordan at rj@villageradio.net.
