Northwood students create mosaic - "Sprinkle Love Around the World"

Several art classes at Northwood Elementary School recently created a beautiful mosaic made out of tiny stones in the shape of the world with a heart. The “Sprinkle Love Around the World” mosaic was on display at the Rochester Gem Mineral and Fossil Show at the Main Street Armory on Oct. 22 and 23. According to Laurie Steele-Sperber, art teacher, there were many positive comments from the community. Here are just a few:

“This is AMAZING!!!!”

“ Beautiful Art!”

“What a wonderful wish for the world!”

“WOW! Nice teamwork!”

“Thanks for letting everyone view it!”

“LOVE IT!!!”

Thank you for making my eyes smile!”

This is the second year Steele-Sperber, whose husband, Dan Sperber, is a gemologist and a computer maintenance technician for the Hilton School District, has involved her students in creating a project to display at the show.
