Hilton Board of Education appoints new member

The Hilton Board of Education has appointed Mark Hilburger to fill the unexpired term of Daniel Wellington, who resigned Dec. 31 due to moving out of state. Hilburger is a math teacher leader at Greece Arcadia Middle and High School. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary mathematics from SUNY Geneseo and a Master of Education degree from the University of Rochester. Hilburger and his wife Christine are Greece residents and have three children in the Hilton School District – Carolyn, age 15; Nicholas, age 12; and Abigail, age 10.

The term for Hilburger’s position will expire June 30, 2016. If he wishes to continue in the position, he will need to run for a three-year term in the annual school board elections on May 17, 2016.

In addition to appointing Hilburger, the Board of Education elected Aggie Seneway as president and Barbara Cutrona as vice president.

The Hilton Board of Education generally meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 7 p.m. in the Board Room of the District Offices, 225 West Avenue, Hilton, unless otherwise indicated.
