June Eichas named 2015-16 SRP of the Year; Nov. 15 SRP Recognition Day
Eichas, teaching assistant at Village Elementary School, was named School-Related Professional (SRP) of the
Year at the staff convocation
at Hilton High School on September 6.
For the past 17 years, Eichas has treasured and respected
her students for the unique individuals they are and works
hard to advance each child's social, emotional and academic
skills. Her coworkers describe her as kind, compassionate,
selfless and reliable. "June is a model citizen of character
and compassion, and makes our learning community and world a
better place," said one nominator. "Her ability to think she
can do better, try something differently, and hope for more
has pushed me to become a better teacher," said another.
The other SRP of the Year finalists were: Brit Brattlie,
nurse at Village Elementary School; Pat Jarvis, teaching
assistant at Northwood Elementary School; and Becky Myers,
teacher's aide at Hilton High School.
School District School-Related Professional of the Year
honors the exceptional skills and initiative shown by Hilton
staff members. Nominees are dues paying members of the
Hilton Central School Employee Association (HCSEA) for at
least five years prior to nomination. Applicants are judged
on performance of duties, handling of an unusual assignment
and how they embody the image of the school-related
SRP of the Year recipients receive an “Outstanding
Employee Award” certificate and a pin to recognize their
achievements. Those staff members eligible
are: Teacher's Aide/Teaching Assistant; Custodial/Maintenance/Buildings and Grounds; Support
Service - Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Nurse,
Technical Support, etc.; Secretarial/Clerical; and Transportation.
