Academic Intervention Services

Academic intervention services is defined as additional instruction that supplements the instruction provided in the general curriculum and assists students in meeting New York State learning standards. Academic intervention services are intended to assist students who are at risk of not achieving the state learning standards in English language arts and mathematics, or who are at risk of not gaining the knowledge and skills needed to meet designated performance levels on state assessments. The District utilizes multiple measures (state assessment scores, student class work, teacher input, etc…) in determining whether a student should receive additional academic services.
